Today, with a heavy heart, I'm reporting that I landed at my final destination -- Budapest. I know that I'm really behind in my blogging; I've been to Berlin (AWESOME!!!), Cairo, and Athens, and now I have three days in Budapest before most likely heading to Prague for a few days and maybe Vienna (that's a BIG "maybe" -- time may not permit it) before heading home.
I've been asked this quite a bit: my American Airlines flight is to arrive back in Austin on Monday, May 2 at 6:10pm.
Crazy; I can't believe that I have only one more week left. I'll see what kind of trouble I can stir up in the final few days...
I really hope that this site has been as entertaining for you as it has been for me. My goal was to give you something to read that might amuse you or, at the very minimum, give you something that resonated with you. Not sure if it's clear in the blog, but this has been the most amazing trip of my life, and I'm not sure I've ever had as much fun in two consecutive months -- it's been a blast bringing you along for the ride!
At this point, I feel that I've accomplished all that I set out to see, and Budapest, Prague and / maybe Vienna are just icing on the cake. I've punched through the exhaustion that was plaguing me last week, and I realized that I'm gonna be exhausted until I get home, and I just need to deal with it.
I've learned tons of things on this trip, but some of the funnier things are how well ample amounts of cologne can work to "freshen" clothes; how amazing clean laundry is; how nice it is to sleep in a comfy bed three consecutive nights; and that some inexpensive "crappy" hair products might actually work (my locks haven't been exposed to anything like "Pantene" or "Toni and Guy hair wax" since I was in high school) ;p
[As an aside -- I'll give some "real" thoughts on the people I've encountered and the places I've seen, once I get to the end of this trip.]
With my last week staring deviously at me, I'm actually starting to look forward to returning to Austin. I do miss all of you terribly, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again. Gotta say, though, I'm really not looking forward to work (but who does??) ;p
Alright -- enough of that stuff...let's head to Berlin...
