Onward and Upward to Bangkok

Thanks to everyone who provided his or her feedback either through the blog / poll / or email.  I appreciate it!  It wasn't an easy decision, but I decided to remove the Tokyo leg from my trip.  Vietnam existed in my original itinerary, so I called American Airlines with the hopes that I could replace Tokyo for Vietnam.  They wouldn't let me change any of my destinations, so my next stop will be Bangkok (unfortunately via Hong Kong -- all direct flights were full).  I'm leaving tomorrow morning at 8:30am, and will arrive in Bangkok around 6pm local time.

Right now, I'll be in Bangkok for 2 weeks.

I did some checking, and learned that it's not that easy to get into Vietnam; it takes several days to get a visa approved, so my plan is to spend the first week exploring Bangkok while the Vietnamese embassy processes my visa application. Once it's approved, I'll spend a few days in Ho Chi Minh City before departing to London late on April 3rd.

I'm being as flexible as possible, so if, for some reason, I'm not approved to gain entry into Vietnam, my backup plan is to head to the Thailand beaches.
